About the Teachers - Camp Busy Bees

AIA - Frankfort

Saima Mozaffar – Lead Teacher

Saima Ashraf Mozaffar is a certified teacher with a degree in Early Childhood Education from Governors State University. She also has a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from St. Joseph's College, Karachi, Pakistan. In the past 12 years, she has been actively engaged in the upbringing of her three children, ages 12, 9 and 7, as a full time Mom. In the meantime she has been very involved in doing Interfaith work in the South West Suburbs.
In addition, three years ago Saima started her own company called "Zikr Inspirations". She creates oil paintings and other works of art incorporating "duas" from Qur’an and Sunnah. On Sundays, she also teaches Weekend Islamic School at the American Islamic School in Frankfort.
Saima is very excited to be part of Camp Busy Bees this summer. The goals and structure of the CBB curriculum appeal to her greatly. She is looking forward to imparting Islamic knowledge to students in fun and creative ways.

Sana Mohiuddin

Sana Mohiuddin is a great asset to the community. She studied in Syria for one summer and also at IIE for 2 years. She loves to teach kids, and is really excited about joining Camp Busy Bees because she has heard great things about the program.

ICC of Des Plaines - Des Plaines

Fatima Alvi – Lead Teacher

Fatima Alvi is the lead teacher at Des Plaines Potter Masjid. Fatima Alvi has been a part of Camp Busy Bees for four summers now, Alhamdulilah. Each summer's theme brings a new opportunity for her to invest her time and energy into a program she feels uniquely caters to young Muslim girls. Additionally Fatima is able to utilize her knowledge in Early Childhood Education (teaching of birth-3rd grade) and prior experiences with children to facilitate in the Islamic learning of young girls. Fatima continues to enjoy developing life long bonds with fellow volunteers, campers, and parents.

Mariam Saeed

Mariam Saeed was born and raised in the Chicago land area. She attended CPSA for 10 years and graduated high school from there as well. Mariam spent her undergraduate years at Benedictine University. As VP of the MSA and founder of 'Smiles in the City, she has been very involved with the student community. Mariam also had the wonderful opportunity to part take as a student of the IIE Weekend Shariah Course, Alhumdulillah. In December 2009, she completed her bachelors degree in Health Science. She recently received admissions at UIC College of Dentistry and will matriculate in August 2010, Inshallah.

Aneesa Patel

Aneesa Patel was born in Voorhees, New Jersey and raised in Chicago, Illinois. At a very early age, her mother Zainab Patel, who Alhamdulillah happens to be a Qariah from Jamia-Tus-Salihath in Malagoan, India taught her how to read the Quran with Tajweed. Aneesa attended MCC Full Time School for junior high and Islamic Foundation School for 9th and 10th grades. She is currently enrolled in the home schooling program and was able to save a year of schooling. As a result, Insha-Allah, Aneesa will be going to college in the fall of 2010. She is considering majoring in Education. Currently, Aneesa is also attending Saturday Fiqh and Tajweed classes taught by Alimahs -- Sr. Erum Shaikh, Sr. Ameena Ahmed and Sr. Shabana in Lincolnwood, Illinois.

Masjid-al-Huda - Schaumburg

Aliya Hoda

Aliya Hoda graduated from the University of Illinois-Chicago with a Bachelor's degree in the Teaching of English. Since then, she has taught middle school Reading at Islamic Foundation School, and currently teaches 5th grade at Averroes Academy in Northbrook, Illinois. She has also spent time being a writing tutor as well as learning Arabic and French. Her hobbies include baking, sewing, calligraphy, and enjoying the great outdoors.
